Season 6, Podcast 122, Isaiah 62:6-12, Part Two “And They Shall Call Them, The Holy People.”

In speaking previously of The Marriage Supper of the Lamb, one thinks of the Parable of the Ten Virgins. The five wise virgins are invited into the marriage feast. The five foolish virgins are not. In addition, we read of the Marriage Supper of the Lamb in Revelations:

Revelation 19:6-9

And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth. Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.

Only the righteous will be invited to the Marriage Supper of the Lamb for only the righteous, Jew or Gentile, will be the seed of Abraham.

We must ask, “How are the children of Israel gathered? Christ gives the answer to his disciples. Following his resurrection, Christ appears to the apostles and gives them the following commandment.

Matthew 28:18-20

And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

In other words, the seed of Abraham are being called out of Babylon through his disciples in his organized church. Isaiah writes that the servants of the Lord in his church must remain clean.

Isaiah 52:11

“Depart ye, depart ye, go ye out from thence, touch no unclean thing; go ye out of the midst of her; be ye clean, that bear the vessels of the LORD.”

In Isaiah the ‘vessels of the Lord’ refer those who bear the vessels in the Lord’s temple. In other words, those who bear the priesthood, who carry out the ordinances of the Lord must remain clean.

Paul broadens the definition, referring to all members of the church as vessels of the Lord. He calls them ‘vessel unto honour,’ sanctified, and meet for the master’s use,’ He calls upon them to ‘follow righteousness’ and be ‘prepared unto every good work.’

2 Timothy 2:20-22

But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work. Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

The vessels refer to both Jew and Gentile, whom he refers to as “children of the living God.”

Romans 9: 24-26

Even us, whom he hath called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles? As he saith also in Osee, I will call them my people, which were not my people; and her beloved, which was not beloved. And it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people; there shall they be called the children of the living God.

I suppose controversy will always surround the whereabouts of the Ten Lost Tribes. Do they exist in a single group still identified by their tribe? It appears highly unlikely. We know that the Jews maintained their identity, and they have been scattered throughout the world. It seems that if the other tribes had done the same, we would certainly know it.
