Season 6 Podcast 38 Book of Revelation “Opening of the Seven Seals, Chapter 22:1-10 “The New Jerusalem Pt 3.”

Surely there is no more dramatic scripture in all Holy writing than is found in Revelation 22. This is the final word. The events that led up to this moment are spectacular. Let me remind you of Peter’s prophecy.

2 Peter 3:10-14

10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,

12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?

13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.

Revelation 22 speaks of the final fate of the earth and the reward of the righteous for only the saved shall dwell in the Holy City, the New Jerusalem, the home of the Father and the Son. This is the primary theme of the Book of Revelation. The Millennium and the New Jerusalem are separate events. A great change will come over the earth in preparation for the Millennium. In earlier chapters John speaks explicitly about the tribulation of those days as discussed previously. Isaiah gives an exquisite vision of life on earth during the Millennium.

First of all, Christ shall reign

Isaiah 11:1-5

1 And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:

2 And the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord;

3 And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the Lord: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears:

4 But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked.

5 And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins.

Secondly, there shall be no enmity among man or animal.

Isaiah 11:8

6 The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.

7 And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.

8 And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice’ den.

All wars will cease. The Word of God will be taught to all people of the earth. The Gentiles will be converted.

Isaiah 11:9-10

9 They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.

10 And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious.
