Season 6 Podcast 4, A New Voice of Freedom, Argument for the Existence of God, “Immortal Matter.”

According to the laws of conservation and thermodynamics, matter and energy, though they can be changed, cannot be created or destroyed.  They are conserved over time.  That has enormous spiritual, temporal, and philosophical implications.  First of all, it means that matter and energy self-exist.  They have always existed. They have no beginning and no end. Matter and energy are the stuff that worlds are made of, that we are made of. There is no first cause to matter and energy. The self-existence of matter and energy cannot be explained by any of the theories of science.

Theoretical science claims that all the matter and energy of the universe as we know it were concentrated into a singularity smaller than an atom. It seems logically impossible. What force organized that singularity?

Science claims that we live in an accidental universe. That can only mean that the singularity was created by accident. The self-contradiction is apparent because the singularity is the single most organized sphere that has ever existed. No cosmos, no universe, no galaxy, no solar system, no earth, even mother earth, peopled with billions of intelligences, all of which are claimed by science to have been organized by accident can compare in complexity.

Furthermore, claims modern science, a Big Bang occurred in which the singularity exploded, and its particles, which also were infinitesimally small, miraculously organized themselves into clumps of matter large enough for gravity to organize those clumps into galaxies which organized themselves into systems like ours that contained planets like ours that organized themselves into life which manifested itself into flora and fauna and intelligences like us, all by accident. As I have many times quoted the famous mathematician/philosopher Bertrand Russell: “Man is an accidental collocation of atoms.”

There is no scale of probability that allows for such a phenomenon. Gravity cannot explain it. Evolution cannot explain it. And certainly accident, chance, luck, and coincidence cannot explain it.

The only thing that can explain it is law, irrevocable, immutable law or science is a fantasy because it too came from nothing. Until science can explain the origin of law, they cannot explain the origin of creation. They cannot even justify their own existence. They have no authority. The only reason science claims an accidental universe is because they don’t believe in intelligent design. A believe in intelligent design would presuppose the existence of God.

Their argument runs like this:

Intelligent design does not exist yet existence exists; therefore, everything was created by accident.

It is perhaps the greatest non sequitur ever invented by man.

On a purely logical level scientific theory is always tenuous. Why? Because Science in the beginning must be inductive. In other words, conclusions are drawn from many examples. However, any universal statement such as all crows are black can be falsified by one contradictory example. The same thing can be said of the law of gravity. For example, what if somewhere in the cosmos water doesn’t run downhill?

According to the famous logician Karl Popper any claim that cannot be falsified is scientifically invalid. In other words, it cannot be irrevocably proven to be a universal truth. From a scientific point of view, what is true in our world may not be true in another world. That means that all science is universe specific meaning that its laws are only peculiar to that world and not necessarily applicable to another universe. Even if they find a universe just like ours, there is always the possibility that another universe will contradict it.  Therefore, the best of science in the large scheme of things is uncertain.
