Season 5 Podcast 144 Book of Revelation “Opening of the Seven Seals, M, Chapter 14:6-11 B “The First Three Angels.”

Another set of angels appear to John. The first angel speaks of a restoration.

Revelation 14:6

“And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people.”

The 144,000 spoken of in verse 1 are connected to the restoration of the gospel of Christ. Earlier John spoke of the great apostasy.

Revelation 12:13-17

“And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child. And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent. And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood. And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth. And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.”

It is the duty of the 144,000 to preach the everlasting gospel unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people. We are in the opening of the Seventh Seal. Prior to the Second Coming of Christ, the gospel of Christ will be preached to “every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people” for the last time before he purges the earth and ushers in the Millennium. It is a voice of warning.

Revelation 14:7

“Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.”

This is the final call. This is the Lamb on Mount Zion whose voice is of many waters and the voice of a great thunder. Notice that he speaks with a “loud voice.” That appears contrary to the still small voice spoken of by Elijah.

1 Kings 19:11-12

“And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the Lord. And, behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the Lord; but the Lord was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the Lord was not in the earthquake: And after the earthquake a fire; but the Lord was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.”

To understand that let’s turn to Matthew 24 and listen as Christ describes what must occur just prior to his Second Coming.

Matthew 24:3-15

“3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?

4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.

5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.

6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.

7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.

8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.

9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake.
